the river house - lovingly known as the Federal Hilton is situated on a
picturesque, peaceful, ten acre property and has been planted with a variety of tropical fruits - perhaps a grapefruit for breakfast, avocado for lunch and a custard apple for dessert!



this secret hide away is on a NE facing slope of the Wilson River. The river provides an excellent swimming hole.
The cottage is basic, but sleeps 4-6 in comfort. The style is an eclectic mix of old and new, vintage and modern.



The layout of the house is a combined kitchen and dining room, lounge, main bedroom with double bed and second bedroom with double bed and bunk beds, bathroom and covered deck. Electricity, cold and piping hot running water will be turned on prior to your stay. We have a gas stove, mini oven, fridge, dishwasher, wood burner and cd/tape/ radio, tv and dvd with a digital set top box, basic furniture, cutlery, crockery, blankets and quilts for all beds + a CD library and some games and cards. Outside you can cook on a great wood barbeque or on the gas barbie. Plus we have an iron (not that you'll use it), an electric blanket and all the kitchen appliances you’ll need to whip up delicious meals.

All you need to bring are sheets, towels and provisions.

The holiday cottage is located about 3km from the village of Federal in the Byron Bay hinterland. 20 mins to Byron, 15 mins to Bangalow and Mullumbimby, 30 mins to Lismore.
